To My Friends (Feb. 19)

A translation of SGI President Ikeda's "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

—TO MY FRIENDS—
A person of true faith is someone who makes an unceasing effort
to improve him or herself.
Day by day and month after month,
let's continually challenge our weaknesses and win!
That is how we will be crowned with happiness.

* "Strengthen your faith day by day and month after month. Should you slacken in your resolve even a bit, devils will take advantage."
—"On Persecutions Befalling the Sage," WND-I, page 997

—DAILY GOSHO—
"Consider this: if one cannot cross a moat ten feet wide, can one cross a moat that is twenty or thirty feet wide? If you cannot bring about rainfall, which is easy, how can you attain rebirth in the pure land and achieve Buddhahood, which is difficult?"
(The Letter to Petition from YorimotoThe Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 808)
